DEVELOP ACADEMY
DEVELOP ACADEMY
The DEVELOP ACADEMY program is intended for players from 7 to 18 years old. It is based on a training program of 2 to 3 days a week, depending on the age of the athletes, plus competitive matches, exhibitions, and tournaments. The program is focused on working like soccer professionals, training during the week, with competitive matches on weekends. This program allows the athlete to adapt to increasingly professional training programs such as those carried out by CLUB program.

ELITE (MLS) PROGRAM
(Birth Year 2008 – 2002)
The 65 youth clubs will join the MLS academies as Founding Members of MLS’ elite player development platform. The new platform, which will include more than 8,000 players throughout the U.S. and Canada, will consist of elite year-round competition, as well as player identification initiatives, coaching education opportunities, and additional programming to create the premier player development environment.
The platform will operate with a groundbreaking governance structure that promotes collaboration, innovation and input across all areas of the soccer landscape. Within the structure, technical working groups will provide recommendations on the platform’s strategic objectives and standards, outline competition guidelines and formats, as well as introduce platform programming. By unifying the elite player development landscape and creating a collaborative structure, the new platform will accelerate and enhance player development in North America.

USYS NATIONAL LEAGUE
(Birth Year 2008 – 2002)
The Sunshine Conference is one of 13 Conferences within the USYS National League, is managed by Florida Youth Soccer Association, and serves teams primarily from Florida. Teams that compete within the Sunshine Conference Academy Division will have the opportunity to compete in the new USYS National League Showcase Series, which gives teams a chance to play cross-conference matches in a national setting with increased exposure to college, professional and national team scouts. The Sunshine Conference Academy Division schedule will also allow its players to participate in outside competitions, such as high school soccer or other US Youth Soccer programs.

FLORIDA ACADEMY LEAGUE
(Birth Year 2009)
Twelve clubs with U.S. Soccer Development Academy membership have created the Florida Academy League to continue their player development focus at the 12-U boys age group. The move comes as a result of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy’s decision to no longer host that age group – instead, trusting those programs to provide developmental opportunities for themselves within other structures.
The Florida Academy League, sanctioned and supported by US Club Soccer, will initially host the current Academy 12-U programs in an intrastate competition. The league will maintain a high level of competition and standards, while also improving the league schedule by playing home and away matches with each club.
Through this initiative, these clubs ensure a challenging level of competition for the 12-U Academies, as well as providing the flexibility to continue to improve the league as it moves forward. In the past five years, these clubs have promoted 73 players to professional clubs and more than 200 players to top collegiate programs.

DEVELOPMENT PLAYER LEAGUE
(Birth Year 2008 – 2002)
The Development Player League (DPL) is designed to expand the Girls Development Academy (DA) player pool for participating clubs. The league creates a highly professional training environment and competitive model for aspiring DA players, bridging the gap between club soccer and Development Academy soccer.
The DPL provides a clear pathway for players who show the potential to make the jump to the DA level of play. The DPL teams will offer players who excel to have the opportunity to be called up as a Development Player for their respective DA teams. This structure provides an expanded pool of aspiring DA players with more exposure to the DA training model and level of play, while allowing them the time they need to develop as well as offering the flexibility to play high school soccer.
Founded on the ideology of the full DA program, the DPL provides a development structure that focuses on playing more meaningful games with highly professional game day environment, more training, high level coaching, development before winning attitude, and great exposure in major college showcases events.
